Proposal Photography at Osteria Mattone

I was beyond honored to be asked to photograph Michael’s proposal to Kelly earlier this month. What she thought was going to be an intimate dinner for two in the Wine Room at Osteria Mattone, turned into an ambush of a waitress holding the cutest engagement ring box turned into a cake, a photographer, and a manager with a bottle of bubbly to celebrate. Michael got down on one knee and I began to snap away. It was such a crazy amount of excitement and love in the air as I waited at the bar for this to unfold, with everyone asking me if I was about to photograph a proposal, who was the lucky couple, did she know, etc.

We went outside afterwards to snap a few couple photos and then I departed to let them enjoy their first dinner as an engaged couple. Congrats Michael and Kelly!

**advice to any people looking to get engaged or photographers who will photograph in the wine room at Osteria Mattone, it is really dark in there and the humidity in the wine room started to fog up my lens. My big debate was to use a flash or not, but I though that would be the ultimate mood killer. I loved the vibe of the restaurant and the staff was more than accommodating, but just be prepared with the right equipment (or make sure your photographer is prepared!).
