I left a 6 figure career to make logos for a living.

People thought I was crazy.

IF YOU WANNA GO WAY BACK...

2007 | Begin Freelancing. I have a BFA in Graphic Design and Double Minor in Marketing and Art History from Kennesaw State University (Go Owls!). I began freelancing while in college helping out local small business and non-profits.

2008 | Launch a Non-Profit. In college, a handful of friends launched a non-profit called Social 360, a networking opportunity for college kids to get experience all while increasing awareness for local non-profits. Artists could get experience helping rebrand a non-profit. Marketing and business majors used these small NPO's as excellent resume builders. Everyone wins. Social 360 stayed strong for almost 6 years but after much debate, my business boo, Molly and I shut her down and decided to move on in our careers. The recession hit hard for most non-profits.

2010 | Tech Startup to Corporate Life. In 2010, I took a Creative Director position with a digital media startup, Lift Retail, in Atlanta's tech incubator, ATDC. In 2012 Lift Retail was acquired by Verifone and I worked for them until 2017 (while still growing a successful freelance business). At Verifone Media, I was responsible for the creation and execution of brand strategies for multibillion dollar brands in the petroleum space. I also lead the UI/UX implementation of the in-store digital media platform. I was able to teach some of the top consumer packaged good brands in the world how to leverage shopper activation tactics in the digital media space. Not too shabby of a gig.

2016 | The big decision. I learned in 2016 about an upcoming acquisition for our company. I could not mentally handle it again since multiple media acquisitions had occurred during my career at Verifone. I was offered my dream job, it was everything I had been working towards in my corporate role…being responsible for innovation for a top tier company in their industry. But I’d have to move across the country. I had just had my little girl. My husband had just started his real estate business in Atlanta. And it also meant I wouldn’t be able to freelance anymore because I knew there was no way I could handle a new job, being a mom for the first time, and freelancing. It was serious money. A serious role. I was already a road warrior (traveling on average 3x a month) and I knew this meant even more travel. And I was just exhausted. LIFT was my baby before I had a baby. But I had given it all I could and was honestly…bored to death. So….

after ten years of dreaming, I finally left Corporate America to take my freelance business full time.

2017 | Full time freelancer. If you didn't know me personally, you thought I was crazy. “What do you mean you’re leaving a well paid salaried position to go off and freelance full time…with a new baby….when your husband also just started a business?”

But if you knew me…you knew I had been wanting, dreaming, talking about this for years. And I have to say, I think I made the right decision. I’m excited about my work. I genuinely to my core love what I do. And I get to spend more time with my two littles and have a schedule thats on my terms. Being a household of business owners isn’t easy. There are times we’ve definitely thought about getting a job (just for insurance alone). But it is so worth it.

MY WORK

Since 2007, I have been lucky to design for many companies such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Mars Inc, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Altria, RJ Reynolds, Circle K, Sunoco, Hess, Rukket Sports, Body Design Personal Training, Amanda Adams & her AA Bikini Body Program, and non-profits like Jeffrey Fashion Cares, She is Safe, and Ink 4 Pink. My work has been featured in publications & digital mediums such as  Oxygen Magazine, Fitness X Magazine,  BodyBuilding.Com, BLU Magazine, How He Asked, Daily Candy, Creative Loafing Atlanta, INK Atlanta, & PRICK Magazine to name a few.

The inside scoop.

I’m a mom to a terrifyingly sassy almost five year old girl and an 18 month old boy. Our son was born premature and we spent 7 weeks in the NICU. He was born so incredibly tiny and in 6 months is one of the chunkiest babies I’ve ever met. And I love it.

2019 changed me. I was recovering from a blighted ovum miscarriage that took far too long to happen and a botched surgery. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer. I found out I was pregnant with Baby Ronin. My mother lost her battle on July 6th. I had Ronin 8 weeks early on December 6th.

I met the love of my life in high school. We’re not high school sweethearts but I pretty much inserted myself into his life being his female best friend until he realized how amazing I was. The guy who thought he’d never get married finally proposed….it took a decade.

We lived in town in Atlanta after college but once we had kids, we moved back to the town we met and grew up in. And I love it.

I’m a Navy brat and my family got into real estate so I’ve moved 24 times in my life.

If you follow me on social media, I often discuss the ins and outs about all aspects of my life. Business. Motherhood. Just being and adult in general. And I’m generally in a top knot and no makeup….I get real dressed up for my audience.

I would secretly love to open up a bakery. Maybe one day….
